How these figures are calculated
- Prices are recorded from provider websites with the page address and the date each was observed.
- Each business counts once: its lowest single starting, fixed or range price for acupuncture at any of its locations in the area. A chain with many locations counts once.
- Per unit, per area, course, package and consultation prices, and amounts flagged as implausible, are excluded.
- A cost page is published only when at least 10 businesses are in the sample. The sample is the businesses in the directory that publish a price online, not the whole market.
- A starting price is the lowest advertised entry price. It is not a quote and not the cost of a course.
Prices are figures published on business websites on the date shown. They may exclude consultation and other fees and may have changed. Prices are not shown for services that involve prescription or unapproved medicines.
